What is the Parade of Homes?
The Parade of Homes is a scattered-site tour of new homes and a celebrationof homeownership and community. In the spring and the fall, builder members of Housing First Minnesota welcome tour-goers to hundreds of new construction homes and neighborhoods throughout the region during this free event.
What is the Remodelers Showcase?
The Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase is a scattered-site tour of remodeled homes held in conjunction with the Parade of Homes, during the final weekend of the home tour event. During the Remodelers Showcase, members of Housing First Minnesota open dozens of remodeledhomes in Minnesota for people to tour for free.
How much does it cost to tour?
Touring is always free, except for a few homes that are selected by the Housing First Minnesota Foundation as its Dream Homes, where a $5 entry fee required. The entry fee is paid at the door, and proceeds help the Foundation build and remodel homes for Minnesotans in need.
Where can I get a guidebook?
Stop by your local Holiday Stationstore or Kowalski’s Market to pick up your copy. Or, head to the Guidebooks page to flip through our e-guidebooks.
When are homes open to tour?
During scheduled home tour events, new homes are open Fridays-Sundays between 12-6PM. Remodeled homes are only open for three days, the final weekend of each tour.
How can I find information about each home?
Free, printed guidebooks are available beginning about two weeks prior to each tour in racks at regional Holiday Stationstores and Kowalski’s Markets. The guidebooks include information about all the homes on tour, plus interesting articles and an extensive style section showing off the latest design and décor. The guidebook is available at ParadeofHomes.org in e-magazine format, too.

Where can I find directions to the homes?
Each home on the tour will have directions listed within the online or print entry. You can also click the Apple Maps or Google Maps buttons to route directly from your location.
Do I have to make an appointment?
Nope! All Parade Homes will be open during tour hours. Just walk right in! (Note: a few select homes will be by appointment only but will be clearly marked in the guidebook and online.)

Some model homes are staffed by sales agents throughout the week. If you’d like to visit a home outside of regular tour hours, check with the builder or community it’s located in to inquire about scheduling an appointment.
Do I need be actively home searching to tour on the Parade of Homes?
Anyone can tour! You don’t have to be in the market for a new home to stop by during tour hours.

Who builds and remodels the homes featured on the tour?
Each home on the tours is constructed or remodeled by a member of Housing First Minnesota, a trade organization representing area builders, remodelers, and industry suppliers. There are between 100-150 different builder and remodeler companies featured each tour.
How can I find out more about the builders or remodelers?
All of the builders and remodelers with homes on the tour are easily searched online at ParadeofHomes.org in the Builder or Remodeler search. Filter your search to find the right fit for you and access their company website to research even more.
Are there other home tour events?
Yes! We host two Parade of Homes, Remodelers Showcase, and Artisan HomeTour events each year. Check our Dates & Hours page for upcoming event dates.
What’s a Dream Home?
Each tour, the Housing First Minnesota Foundation hand-selects a few outstanding homes to feature as Dream Homes on the tour. These homes charge a $5 admission and help support the Foundation, our nonprofit arm that builds and remodels housing for Minnesotans in need. You can expect these unique homes to exhibit the highest level of craftsmanship, feature intricate design details, and inspire every visitor who walks through their doors.
